Different Poker Variations
A poker game has many different kinds of variations that come in different sizes and shapes. Mainly, the basic rules and format of poker games came from only three different categories. These are the Draw Games, which includes five card draw. The second is the Stud Games, that includes seven card stud and the third is the Shared Hand Games, the best example is the Texas Hold'em game.
Poker games have been extracted to many different kinds of poker games like the high and low pig, guts and bid poker games.
However, even thought that there are different variations of poker games the hand rankings of this game remains the same. There might be a few exceptions but they are only minimal.
Let us now discuss some different variations of poker games and its definition.
We can truly say that among the many variations of poker games, this is the most famous of them all. Well, that is because by far, this game has the simplest rules that are easy to learn.
Nevertheless, this has simple rules but no one can object that this is the most difficult variation of poker to master.
Individual players are dealt with two cards, and then followed by three cards facing upward and followed by another one facing downward. The final card will follow next facing upward as well; this is now the river card.
2. Five Card Draw
This poker variation limits players to 3 to 7 per game. Individual player is given five cards and every player will get a chance to bet one by one.
After the betting procedure players can exchange their three cards for new cards. Another round of betting will be done until one stands out as the winner.
We can say that before, that Draw poker was the standard way of playing poker but Texas Hold'em overtaken it.
3. Seven Card Stud
There are 3 to 10 players with every game. Each player will be given two cards both facing down, followed by one card facing upward and then players will have to bet.
The fourth, fifth and sixth cards will be dealt this time facing upward, but betting will be done after each.
The last card will be dealt, facing downward and there will be the last round of betting as well before the final showdown of cards.
Texas Hold'em is the first most popular poker game, this one, Stud Poker, is the second.
4. Pai Gow Poker
We can say that this is the complicated kind of poker game. This game can be played by seven players competing against the dealer. A joker card is included in the game.
5. Caribbean Poker
This game is one of the most played poker variation in a casino. Every player will get five cards each and if the player decides that his or her card is the best he can bet for more.
